Letter Arrangement

Letter Arrangement: We are generally given a particular word on which a question is framed regarding the frequency of a character or the number of alphabets between to characters. Otherwise we are given a pattern in which the alphabets are to be arranged and the answer the question accordingly.

In this type of questions, generally a letter series is given from the letters A to Z or a random sequence of letters is given.

The  candidate is then required to trace the letters satisfying certain conditions as regards to their positions in the given sequemce or the sequemce by performing certain given operations on the given sequence.

Illustration: Which letter has the highest frequency in the word CIRCUMSTANCES?

A.  T                 B.  C                 C. E                    D. S       

Answer: B

Solution: In the word CIRCUMSTANCES C is occuring 3 times so it has the highest frequency.

Illustration: Write the first half of the alphabets in reverse order and then the remaining half in reverse order, then find how many letter are there between C and T?

A.  7                 B.  16                 C. 8                    D. 15      

Answer: C

Solution: According to the question the arrangement will be

M, L, K, J, I, H, G, F, E, D, C, B, A, Z, Y, X, W, V, U, T, S, R, Q, P, O,  N

We see that between C and T the letter are  B, A, Z, Y, X, W, V, U, that is 8. So the correct option is C
